what's up YouTube what is up yeah yeah I'm just you know I'm in the driver's seat but I mean I'm kicking back in the sleeper you know what is be partial sleeper berths I mean come on check this out you see that they're out there is what you call wait let me see if I can get you guys down I just got to show you the extent of this hold on what wait for it what's this can you I mean seriously oh now that right there I'm I will go ahead and put it back see even slide that back in see you slide that thing out give you more of a seat more of a cushion I don't care who you are there at there is just cool now let me see if I get you set back up in position what was you add up here when you right right about there click that's right yeah gals I just got through cutting the the video going from cross country from Georgia to northern cow if you hadn't seen it check it out it's right right there right there 7.2 miles per gallon cross country and a kenworth w900l I mean that's just unheard of but I'm gonna do this little vlog today well right now and then I'm going to yank ain't thought the hit that far hit see I've done parked I've done one got a shower I've done got got my belly for a too much way too much Denny's I got a I got a Philly Philly cheese omelet hashbrowns with mushrooms and onions don't stop I'm stuff but anyway let me tell you about the story about this so I picked up this load and as I stated it at the beginning of the trip I had 115 gallons in the tanks and from there well let's back it up let's see the day before you know the day I put this new legacy in the day before I was in Ringgold and before I left out of the yard and event made that 2:00 a.m. appointment I've talked the tanks off and I was right at 120 130 miles from there to my drop-off so the first 130 120 hundred thirty miles I had 40 41 42 thousand in the box and I got there and I was sitting on 6.4 and when I got done in loading I did headed back up to Adairsville to exit 306 and park that Patti's truck stopped that might have been 70 miles maybe I got up the next morning and went down and picked up my load and kennesaw and by the time I got there I was sitting on might have been when I was at six four I can't get deep up but anyway when I got the load on the heavy load of sixty two hundred pounds from them there until Tyler Texas when I chop things up again I had it built up 27.4 only trip ometer here on the dash and I went ahead and topped the tanks off and reset it and from there I went to Amarillo and where I got to looking at where I was gonna run out of diesel fuel and I was like I got enough to make a Kingman but I don't want to have to fill up you know the tanks on empty and Kingman that's gonna be expensive so when I got that in real oh I went hitting top the tanks off again that that was at 66 gallon fill up no wait maybe I don't know how to check out the other video so when I got to Amarillo losing track of work going here guys I topped them all up in Amarillo so when I did get to Kingman in Arizona I wouldn't have to put so much in the truck I ended up putting 103 and which was a lot better than 150 hundred 60 or possibly the 180 if I don't went our way to Kingman so yeah I've done that but by the time from Amarillo I didn't reset my trip ometer I was curious to see what I can do from from Tyler all the way over to Kingman and when I got there it was still again 7.4 and that's coming up over the Rockies 7.4 so I was I was feeling like a champ you know I'm saying cuz I knew I was gonna finish this trip out and have 7-5 7-6 on the whole duration of the trip and then whenever I filled up and I kept from ones that the Kingman and I posted that picture the other night where I was showing 10 miles to the gallon and the reason it was so high is because I just filled up in the kingman the petrol and from that say it's exit exit 66 and from manner down to the river of Colorado River so it's like 66 miles down to the river so when I got down there it was showing 10 miles to the gallon so initially I wanted information you guys so took a picture but got through there and then when I got to the top of the hill going through needles I got to the top and I had milked it all the way to the top and when I got up there I'm sitting on 9.2 and I'm still smiling but soon as it's like soon as I got to the top and crashed it over that first little hill they're gonna I kicked it out of gear in lost coasting but that next hill soon as I got to the top I felt the headwind I had a headwind from there all the way into Barstow and I'm sitting there like no offer for a headwind come on now come on mother nature anyway I had a headwind from that point on all the way over the Barstow and I've gotta get an app on the phone here let me see if I can show you get us it's called wind compass and I used to use it a lot whenever was dollar than my MPG skills back with my last truck north cross country but I pulled this up so you can see that anyway give it the direction of the wind and it was getting a 14 13 14 15 mountain air headwind with 22 or 23 mile mile per hour gusts and it was coming straight up that's what it was saying and I was like an old man that soon as I can get out of this soon as I get out of this I can build it back up well the only problem is I've never got out of it and then when I got to Barstow when they little overhead things on the interstate they said warning strong winds ahead and I'm like good thing on parking so I went through Barstow when I went down the hill parked at the TA and driven left me a nice little note on the window yeah I've got plans for that okay let's go and put it in right here so yeah that happened and man he should just woke me up I told him I said why don't you like no piece of man is like ain't cotton warning us like probably I'm done in about five six hours sleep I was good I said hello plus if I wasn't fighting get enough sleep I just went back to sleep after he left but nonetheless he didn't he left me that note and then I was getting out of the truck to go grab a coffee and get on down the road to go meet up with Brian that over in Mojave and I heard somebody say Sammy flipped over and I just watched this Peterbilt pulley and I spoke Sonique Peterbilt 386 I said Mary was looking at a nice trailer nice truck is nice and shiny I'm sitting there thinking that's a nice looking truck this happened to be the guy he was back then as I was walking out and the auto daddy and it's one of my subscribers and I walked up he said hey Mel what's going on I said nothing much he said hey it's me uh Nebraska bull hauler cattle hauler baseball holiday anyway he's out of Tennessee we exchanged emails here a while back about some things anyway it was Neal so got the thing out to meet him that was pretty cool and then I had to rush off because I feel me Brian then I roll into Lola which by the time I got to Lodi I had it built back up to seven point seven oh yeah I recorded a clip of that but here we are by destructible we are in loader when you see my mileage 7.7 better look at that 7.7 so there you go 7.7 but I promise you if I can oh wait up I got ahead of the story here when I got to Barstow it hurts my heart to say this I was at seven MPGs now keep in mind when I hit California I was at ten by the time I got to Barstow I was at seven by the time I left Barstow and got to Mojave let me remind you it's still windy and got it through to hatchapee when I got to the top of Tehachapi I sitting on six point eight and I'm sorry man I mean I'm gonna cry at this point I'm so I'm really disgusted I'm like man it's hey oh this can't be happening anyway in my favor fell off to hide speed got on Interstate 90 or highway 99 and went through Bakersfield nothing Fresno to Lodi and when I got there I was at 7.7 but all I can keep going through my mind is if I wouldn't have that head win by the time I got to Barstow I'm pretty sure I would have still remained it about 8.5 tonight and by the time I got it to hatch being down to hatch be in that nice smooth rolling on 99 I mean it don't matter what your role in all 99 you won't get some good in BG's I knew in my heart I was gonna be it overnight I've done it before on the on that particular stretch so I knew I could do it again and I was projecting my field of mileage and I just knew I was gonna be at 75 to 76 I mean that's what I even told my buddies I said I'm gonna be at 7-5 7-6 and well I'll let you get I look I let him down myself l still felt what a 72 I'm happy with a 72 but it would have been 7-5 7-6 had not I ran into headwind but anyways guys anyway I'm sure I'm sure you're still wondering you know this Stevie let's dig into this I'm gonna go and give it give it away let's go and do the drawing let's run that up and give away not that sure of course but warm similar wait a minute because if you if you're just tuning in on my community folks I posted a link her obeying us I said what is going to be my fuel mileage for the duration of this trip I'm coming out of Georgia Kennesaw one blow dry California I'm going to take 40 which I came out of Iran 20 over to Dallas Dallas 287 up to Amarillo and 40 our way into California I said what's going to be my fuel mileage and I've got 62 400 pounds in the box that's and man there's a lot of had a lot of hi anticipation anyway the winner whoever guesses it I was gonna have a draw one which we're about to do and the winner is gonna get a free shirt not this one this is mine you can't have this one they're gonna get a free shirt doesn't make sense run off and leave my other shirt I did I did anyway it's a make sense trucker shirt and oh hey what's this thing kind of it's kind of like that make sense track don't make sense don't make dollars anyway t-shirt giveaway so anyway let's run into that be right back okay look out the time is here and I had six guys out of the over 100 put in for it six guys nailed it and if it was 7.2 miles to the gallon 7.2 and some change so anybody that put seven two seven two seven two five seven two four seven two and then to it and the person all you got right here is av avi 45 which is aviation 45 TL for Tim feathers Jay s and that is for Johnson free RB that is for layman Bradley TN that is for the milk the Nomad and DZ as for Derek Zener so what I've done is I took they're basically identical and we'll fold them up put them in the hot then we're gonna draw for it and there we have it they're all pretty much the same they've them all up identical and well let's get down to it who gets the t-shirt hi guys I got you set up here we'll go under the draw one courtesy of all my favorite hands and well guess what we need to do is there you go you see how it is just luck ain't gonna touch I'm gonna roll them up in there and this bouncing around the bouncing around here I'm gonna show you let me show you don't want nobody saying that I messed it up I rigged it so you got ready for this let's bounce it around a lot gonna look at it here it is in the winter is at I'm just getting your phone into lockup aviation 45 aviation 45 aviation you're gonna have to do me a favor you want have to send me an email you want send me an email that makes sense truckin make sense truckin give me your Mellon address give me your shirt size and look at my shirts down there in the tea screen click on it and look at the colors tell me what color you want so I need your address your shirt size and what color you want and yeah let's get your pretty shirt aviation 45 and guys I want to thank you for playing along I had fun with this the making of this and I thought it's kind of cool to throw up drawn in there and it was cool to see you guys see your responses and my first initial reaction was good god these guys got a lot of faith in Oh Ellie Mae lmeadows really good but come on now it took me nine hundred flattop we're talking cross country from Georgia to northern cow and some of you guys are saying eight point seven eight point five five Jesus I couldn't do that my last truck either I couldn't even do that my last truck that was way more aerodynamic than this one and I know what was empty I know I was empty but oh I really was let down 72 72 I could have done a lot better than 72 I guess some of my buddies I was telling him when I was projecting what I was going to do and and I'm sorry I let you down I told y'all I told you guys wanna do 75 at minimum seven five and then I couldn't but you know I'm happy with 72 72 in a hood truck this truck right here yeah 72 in that truck you really can't complain and I know I know I know something you guys want to get in your comments and be like my Cascadia gets 8.5 my pro star gets 7.9 or my Volvo gets look we all know if you go by Prius you get 50 Dagon miles a gallon ok but this is a good truck yeah yeah but this is a good drug come on now I know those trucks are efficient but that's not very impressive if you've got a aerodynamic truck and you want to press me show me you get in 12/5 cross-country not a cup because I've got any piled in my last arrow truck and I've done so – in a hood truck flat tire so the challenge is out you've got a aerodynamic truck and you can get 85 show me you meet 12:5 and then we will be impressed but anyways guys um I'm glad you enjoyed well if you're still hanging around I'm glad you enjoyed it because you're still hanging around you guys Rock if you are subscribed you're awesome if you're not maybe you should consider give the video a like petting already and ring my bell so you can see the rest of my videos well I guess winners never quit Twitter as well they never win no no no no no no no oh god no you still say to my man I'm not feeling stop behind me on this trips looking at me Lord the exigua I'm talking to you in a bargain look at his long time

Lol good video. 2 weeks ago I loaded here in Tulsa Ok and went to Rosemount Mn with 9,000 on the nose and got 7.8 mpg. I’m was pretty proud of that, now that’s only about 696 miles but I thought it was pretty good anyway.

james harmon · May 15, 2019 at 4:02 pm

Your kicking ass Sammy. That’s bad ass. If you were heading east you would have gotten better mpg. That wind is always strong.

If you want a 10mpg truck, a W900 isn't the truck over a lot of the trucks are out there these days.

Good job on the MPGs.

I live in the Sacramento area. Not far from Lodi. It would have been nice to meet ya.

Keep the rubber side down and the left foot closed.

Take care,

Loved following you on this journey! You rock man! Hey Sammy, I didn’t win the shirt but just checked my authority status and my authority is now active whoop whoop! Been working on this for almost a year. I guess I can give my 2 weeks notice to the pharmaceutical company, so I can start my new journey! You and others helped me get there, now the real fun begins. Got to admit I’m scared to death but excited at the same time. Hoping I can reach out to you for help from time to time. Peace brother✌️
