UTZ Grillin' Classics – BBQ Picnic In A BAG!? – WHAT ARE WE EATING?? – The Wolfe Pit

Published by Darron Toy on

hey everybody welcome back to the Wolfe pit with another episode of what are we eating nothing says summertime like the smell of grills fired up at backyard barbecues with grilled cheese burgers grilled hot dogs and crisp sweet corn but now you don't have to go to a barbecue to enjoy grilled cheese burgers grilled hot dogs or crisps sweet corn that's right that's potato chips has made it possible for you to have all your backyard barbecue favorites out of the bag in the car on your way to your next barbecue or the S&X barbecue you're invited to if the host is not a very good grill ER or own stock in lighter fluid without spoiling classics cheeseburger grilled hot dog and sweet corn flavor potato chips ladies in at first with crazy flavors some good and some not so good so let's see how up grill and classics compare since burgers is the staple and most backyard barbecues let's start with the cheeseburger chips first up says nothing beats a summertime cheeseburger off the grill and I'd have to agree now you can enjoy the same great flavor in our grilling classics cheeseburger potato chips take these chips where your grill can't go grab a bag today and let's get smacking I never really paid attention to how many ingredients are in a bag of potato chips and it really baffles me that there's this many ingredients and a bag of fried sliced potatoes so it's pretty much common sense that all these ingredients are seasonings and preservatives besides the potatoes and the cottonseed oil which I'm assuming they're fried in now for the nutrition facts and the serving size is 20 potato chips and there's nine servings per bag I'm not sure how many people are really going to sit down and count 20 potato chips but we're going to go over them anyway so per 20 potato chips there's 160 calories 10 grams of total fat 2.5 grams of saturated fat no trans fat 5 grams of polyunsaturated fat 2 grams of monounsaturated that which are both healthy fats but I don't think that means the potato chips are health food now no cholesterol 240 milligrams of sodium 320 milligrams of potassium 15 total carbohydrates one gram of dietary fiber one gram of sugars and two grams of protein I get a lot of comments from people saying I spend too much time on ingredients and nutrition facts and they say I should just taste the food but that's not what my videos are about sure I want to see what the foods taste like but I also want to see if they're any good for us and what's in them that's why the title of this series is what are we eating not what does it taste like there's lots of other channels that do that to taste the food and tell you what it tastes like and if it's any good or not and there's nothing wrong with that then I try to make these videos somewhat educational not only for me to learn more about what I'm eating but for you the people so if you don't want to know the details about the product just fast forward until a criminal up high whole now let's pour out the cheeseburger chips and see what they taste like and how do y'all like that fancy Dollar Tree Bowl I got four of them for a dollar that means they cost a quarter apiece what a deal such a bargain shopper I hope you can sense the sarcasm because that's exactly what the Dollar Tree wants you to do is think you're getting a bargain with these things I've had styrofoam bowls that are 30 er than this trust me at a quarter apiece these flim-flam bowls are not a bargain just like their pork chops and rib eye steaks and there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of seasoning on the potato chips at least I couldn't see any I want to put the potato chip in my mouth that was pretty much confirmed there was absolutely no cheeseburger flavor whatsoever but there was a pretty good pickle flavor I mean a pretty good pickle flavor but these aren't pickle flavored chips they're cheeseburger chips like Clara Peller said where's the me I got no grill flavor no cheese flavor and no beef flavor only pickle flavor which wasn't bad it was a bag of pickle chips now for the grilled hot dogs chips and they give you the same spiel nothing beats a summertime hot dog right off the grill now you can enjoy that same great flavor in our grilling classics grilled hot dog potato chips take these chips where your grill can't go grab a bag and get smacking today and again quite a few ingredients just receives me all the nutrition facts are exactly the same as a cheeseburger potato chips except there's less sodium and less potassium there's 170 milligrams of sodium and the hot dog potato chips compared to 240 in the hamburger potato chips and 300 milligrams of potassium and the hot dog potato chips compared to 320 and hamburger potato chips I get the seasonings can easily change the sodium but I figured all the potassium was coming from the potatoes and I figured with the potatoes being the same they'd be equal in the same amount of potassium will be in all three but I can't see where the extra potassium comes from it's not really a big deal but inquiring minds want to know so if you know where it's coming from in the ingredients please let me know in the comments so again when I poured these out in the flimsy Dollar Tree Bowl there wasn't really any noticeable seasoning but I did give a little faint whiff of hot dog but when you do look a little bit closer you do see specks of seasoning and when I give it a taste you actually do get a nice subtle grilled hotdog flavor it's not real strong but it's actually decent I tried another one real quick loss though had the hot dog flavor in my mouth from the previous chip to see if it will make it any better and it didn't really the flavor was still very subtle not great but not bad definitely better than the cheeseburger chips finally for the sweet corn flavor potato chips which to me sounded the most intriguing and again nothing beats summertime sweet corn now you can enjoy the same great flavor and are brilliant classic sweet corn potato chips grab a bag today and get snacking I thought nothing beat a summertime grilled hamburger and then nothing beat a summertime grilled hot dog and now nothing beats summertime sweet corn make up your mind does there's quite a few less ingredients from the sweet corn potato chips than there were in the cheeseburger and the hot dogs potato chips but still more than you would think you would need now again all the nutritional facts and the sweet corn potato chips are exactly the same as they are on the cheeseburger potato chips and the grilled hot dogs potato chips except the sodium and the potassium the sweet corn potato chips have less sodium and less potassium than the cheeseburger potato chips but a little more sodium and the same amount of potassium as the hot dogs potato chips at 180 milligrams of sodium and 300 milligrams of potassium as soon as I open these up and pour them out you got a really strong buttery aroma but again none of these appear to have a lot of seasoning on and so far in the first two that's shown in like a flavor I was really surprised at the flavor of the first chip it had a real buttery flavor and it did have a subtle corn flavor but more buttery than corn but then after a two second one I'm not sure if it was psychological or not then it seemed to gain a little bit of corn flavor I don't know if it was that or the rich buttery flavor make me want corn I didn't taste it all three together to see what it would taste like and it just ended up tasting like a regular potato chip no one flavor stood out over all the corn flavor potato chips had the most flavor the cheeseburger potato chips had the least flavor but the hotdog flavor had the best flavor of what they were supposed to taste like even though the flavor was so so with all that said I'm going to give the sweet corn potato chips a for the cheeseburger potato chips a three and the hot dog flavored potato chips a five I wouldn't really rush out and get any of these if you want a hot dog hamburger or IRRI corn go ahead and buy it if you like to help support the wolf pit please consider being a patron you can pledge as little as a dollar a month that's only twelve dollars for the whole year or you can pledge more that's up to you either way every little bit's appreciated and helps me produce more high-quality videos more often for you the people thank you all very much for watching please don't forget to like this video and subscribe and I'll see you soon

Educational and hilarious! What a bargain!

CMDRFandragon · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I can safely say dollar tree dishes are trash. My mom bought like 4 "glass" cups from a dollar store. They were so cheap and thin that simply washing them broke them. 2 of which broke in my hands. 1 cut my finger open as it exploded when I tried to clean inside it. the other 2 broke or cracked in the dishwasher and shattered when we put them away….the lightest of taps shattered them.. Ive had wet 1 play toilet paper stay together better…

rob farnsworth · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I tried the cheeseburger chips and I thought they were good. Tasted like a cheeseburger to me. Not sure but I thought my chips had more seasoning on top.

Lorena Davila · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I bought hot dog favored potato chips at Big Lots 3 or 4 years ago. I don't know the brand exactly and the chips had a weenies and ketchup taste to them.

Heat Trigger · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I was expecting burger, sandwich, and corn in bags

Ace Dibiase · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Review grippos bbq potato chips from here in cincinnati. Best chips in the world

Brian Stell · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

They prolly boiled down hotdog water into a viscous fluid, infused it into salt, and poured that on the chips.

IrkenExile · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

The "Larry the Cable Guy" potato chips are actually really damn good, especially their Double Cheeseburger chips. You should try a few of their flavors if you can find them!!

Louie De Palma · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Dollar stores make me smile

Judi Bickford · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Utz's potato chips, Larry! No Salt Added. Fried Pickle and Crab are my favorites. I haven't seen these chips where I live but Thanks ABunches for the heads up! XOXO Judi

FD Mackey · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Welcome to UTZ chips…..No really….You are more than welcome to their third rate (I'm being generous grading them as third rate) chips. Until I moved up here to Maryland I'd never heard of the brand and have not been impressed with their products even after almost six years of exposure to them. Lays beats them to death….I was kind of hoping I would never see an UTZ product again once we move back home to South Carolina but I guess it's going to be a "wish in one hand and hope in the other….And see which one fills up first" kind of thing.

Completely Random Product Reviews · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Please don'r ever stop breaking down the nutritional info on the products. It's one of my favorite parts of your reviews!

Anthony Peters · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Screw those whiney babies. I'm glad you go through the ingredients and nutrition facts. Thank you for that.

The Ultimate Gamer2016 · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I thought the cheeseburger chips are good. Wonder if they are still around?

Rob Nelms · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Potassium from possibly cheese or a dairy product.

Chris Lemaster · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

These also have MSG in them.

sube tube · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Sweet corn flavored potato chips. When do we get the sweet potato flavored corn chips?

doug1863 · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Try 7 11’s flavored chips . They have turkey n gravy, hot Italian sausage and green pepper, prime rib which is my favorite, as others

Cori Veronica · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

do not change NOTHING about your channel.

Toggle Fire · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

This video made me laugh a little bit because it makes no sense for them to make a potato chip flavored like corn. Why not make corn chip that has butter flavor. When potatoes and corn are so cheap it doesn't make any sense to me for one to taste like the other

Adventure Steve · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I swear people who complain about a video they are watching for free are the shittiest people on the planet. Great videos! I’ve watched many of them and I wouldn’t change a god damn thing.

jimzplace · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I live near the capital of NY. The UTZ chips around here are advertised as $1.49 but they all sell for $1.00. lately a new flavor has me looking for them all over. SALT & PEPPER!! They are awesome!!!!

Drab Majesty · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Anyone who whines about larry educating us should stop being entitled.

Mia J · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I tasted the corn chips and i did not like it at all tasted like Corn but sweet and a odd after taste good thang i only paid $1.. this is why i watch your reviews keep em coming

Arianna Nicole · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

If the salt is iodized, there is potassium bound to it. So less sodium will mean less potassium, unless they add some potassium back in on it's own, but it would be kind of strange to make enriched/fortified potato chips.

Dumb shits should have used corn chips for the corn chips

Disloyal Dashie · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I agree with you keep reading ingredients

Zoie H · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

i love that you go into detail in the nutrition facts and ingredients

Spines Brine · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

The potassium most likely went up in the burger chips because they use a salt substitute or a flavor enhancer that does. Salt substitutes and many other salt based preservatives contain potassium as well as large amounts of phosphorus.

QuietGrave · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Was I the only person calling them "Oots"?

Monk Killedababy · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Water we eating?

MrMcBrony · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

If a product is labeled No trans fats it means 0 trans fats are present.
If a package only says 0g trans fats can have up to .5g of trans fats in it.

RabidDogma · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

To be fair, Herr did the crazy flavors way before Lay's. BBQ baby back ribs, pork steaks (it's a midwest thing), all kinds of great chip flavors.

Troggy Rog · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Utz kills my blood sugar. Being a diabetic I can assure you that these things have more than 18 grams of carbs.

Smoke Fumus · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

You know, i really do prefer when flavor of chips is more subtle. Lays puts so much shit in theirs, their flavor kicks you into the mouth, and sour chemicals don't help it either. More subtle flavors where you can taste the potato as well – really do help.

FuturePants · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

dude, we are complaining about you RAMBLING, and reading shit we can read ourselves… you don't have to read out numbers, I assume most of your viewers are at least in the 3rd grade. you drag these on too much, this is just criticism, to help you be a better content creator, instead of whining in a video like a child you should take the advice and move on.

shawnbixby1 · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

To all the Wolfepit rookies, you should really check out some of larry's BBQ and other cooking videos they are really good.

ChazBro_ · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

aye shouts to hanover

ToyStoryNBarneyFan · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Even the hot dog chips had a slight pickle flavor

Ze Bunker · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

WHAT?!? UTZ supports USO? Never buying Utz again now.

Eric Wolf · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

I know im a little late to comment here but sometimes you get more flavor from these crazy chip flavors by discarding your dignity and shoving several in your mouth at once… just make sure nobody is watching.. but hey if you're eating classic american grilled foods in potato chip forms in the summer shoving a lot of chips in your mouth at once chances are you're sitting on the couch anyways watching TV with nobody around to judge 😀

Koji 888 · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Please stop reading every single line on the nutrition facts. Just summarize in 10 seconds.

wildbilltexas · July 26, 2019 at 11:41 am

Nice Review! Now and then I see Utz chips in Texas at Big Lots and sometimes at Wallyworld and Dollar Tree. But most of the time they're the standard Potato, BBQ and Ketchup chips.
