Travel Gifts – 10 Gift Ideas For Travelers

Published by Darron Toy on

looking for an awesome gift for the traveler in your life I've got 10 supercool travel gift ideas coming up hey what's up guys sean here with think video TV helped you go further faster in media and on this channel we do video gear reviews audio and tech reviews so definitely subscribe for more videos just like this one and hey at any time during this video check out the show notes in the youtube description i'll list out all of the travel gifts mentioned as well as links extra details and some bonus things that i may have forgot let's get into the video so i live in the US and i've been traveling a lot for the last couple years domestically and internationally and so these gift ideas are kind of coming from experience so the first gift idea would be a digital luggage scale this one is from beau Naza and it is really awesome what's nice is they fit in your hand and you actually wrap the strap around your bag and then you lift it up to get the readout of how much it weighs this one is really nice because it goes in pounds kilograms ounces and grams so you can switch the settings and the reason these are so essential for travel is because if your bags weigh too much you might get charged extra fees or I found that when traveling internationally that they even weigh your carry ons at time and make you check them and maybe you don't want to check them so the second gift idea would be a universal power adapter this one is also from Bonanza and it's great because it's going to allow you to convert whatever country you find yourself in over 150 countries your power to the plug from your native country so it's universal both directions you're going to be able to plug it in to the wall and plug in your devices to the front as well as a couple USB ports now this particular adapter does not convert voltage now you can check out the reviews and whatnot and you'll see that it is a solid choice but if you want to step it up to an even other level you could check out this best tech model right here something like this is like the ultimate solution for converting power 4 USB ports 3 us out –let's and then with the plug end you can plug into all of your various countries with these converters and having a voltage converter is just like another layer protection and so either one of these would be a great choice check out the links in the YouTube description to kind of compare and contrast these for the third gift idea for travelers consider a nice pair of headphones now these are some older Phillips headphones that I've been using for years and they've worked but I've realized the necessity of investing in better headphones and so recently I just picked up a pair of bose soundtrue headphones now these are great because they come in two different models the on-ear which are a little bit smaller and the around ear model and they're great because there's kind of they're not actually noise cancelling but they cancel out noise really well and they're very comfortable good sound reproduction and not too terribly expensive now the designer model that what you could definitely get for somebody would be the quiet comfort noise cancelling headphones from Bose now these are really well known super solid reviews if you can afford it the traveler you're shopping for will thank you because they can not only listen to music noise canceling for airlines or anywhere they go but a lot of people use them even when they're not used listening to music just to cancel noise and just turn them on so that they can just stay focused rest and do whatever they need to do now the next travel gift idea would be a steamer or a mini iron notice to this one to South Africa it was a little overkill for my luggage space this was a little large it was all we had but two models to check out would be the steam fast SF 717 or a mini steam iron and I'll link those up in the YouTube description it's just this idea where when I got to South Africa there actually was an iron I had to request one and then one had to be brought up so it's nice to have just a steamer and you can get in a lot of situations where sometimes a steamer is actually a better solution than an iron and most hotels wouldn't have them if you've got suit jackets or some different things don't really want to iron it but steaming it would be a good solution travel gift idea 5 a selfie stick or a gorilla pod as a traveler it's always awesome to take pictures and so a selfie stick that will work with a point shoot camera or a phone is a great option and I also really love gorilla pods because they can take it to the next level the grip type are great for mobile devices and so you can check those out as an idea or they have all kinds of different sizes too the traveler that you're shopping for do they have a DSLR do they have a bigger camera do they need a bigger gorilla pod or there's some smaller models so for the next gift idea for travelers would be to get them a powerful point-and-shoot camera now everybody's smartphones take pretty good photos but for the avid traveler they might want something that is small and portable but also extremely powerful when it comes to a camera and I'll link up on the YouTube card in the corner of the screen you can click there to see a comprehensive review on some of the best point-and-shoots but two of my favorites would be number one the canon s120 a very solid point-and-shoot camera that could fit into your pocket that way they have a dedicated camera for video clips or for photos that's got a nice big sensor that takes beautiful photos you can have a dedicated SD card and they can really capture the places that they are traveling this one's going to be a little bit more affordable still in about the 300 to 350 range so an investment but mind you these are really good cameras and the other one would be the canon g7x so this would be the step up from the s 120 even better photos even better video clips nice flip out screen on this one and a great camera for traveling there are a lot of great point sheets coming out right now want to check out would be the lumen X LX 100 and also the Sony rx100 line they've got Mark one two three and four four different models so far you can check those out check out the youtube description and i'll link up a few extra tips and ideas if a point shoot sounds like a gift idea you'd want to get the traveler you're shopping for next would be a solid power bank and a power bank is a device that's like a portable battery that you could plug in USB ports and charge up your phone or your other devices if you are away from power so the converters are great if you're in a country where you need to convert the outlet to charge your devices but when you're traveling there's a lot of times when you aren't even by an outlet and you definitely need something like a power bank what's nice is that a solid model can probably recharge your phone multiple times over and I'd recommend a few features this one is pretty good I'll put my favorite ones in the YouTube description if they have more than one USB port it's nice so you can charge multiple devices at once and if they're solid and dependable and have good reviews and things like that so definitely check out power banks number eight a Bluetooth speaker now specifically I love traveling with this boom bot experi because it's pretty small because you can clip it on your backpack or different places and whenever we go on video shoots and do kinds of things it's nice to be able to play music in the hotel room just get it up and running and or anywhere we go and bring our music with it with us we should time lapse you stand out somewhere you can literally have a little portable speaker with you and what I like about this one is that it has internal memory and so that you can load it up with kind of your base of playlists so no matter what you always have music on it and number two it also has solid Bluetooth and it connects really fast and everything like that and so this boom buttocks pro is a personal favorite but if the travel you're shopping for is a music lover there's a bunch of really solid Bluetooth speakers out there to check out number nine the human charger light therapy headset so this headset is designed to help travelers recover from jet lag twice as fast as normal in the way it does that is with light therapy that is kind of like your brain getting sunlight and your body and the rhythms of your body getting light therapy so that should recover faster from the fogginess and the fatigue I actually have a whole dedicated video on the human charger and so I'll link that up on the cards that I did a whole extensive trip from LA to London London South Africa and kind of journaled my time the whole time with the human charger and so for me it's it's legit really loved it it was great to use but definitely a super cool traveler gift idea to check out and then number 10 an RFID blocking passport holder and/or a money belt these are some solid gift ideas that are nice not just to keep all your stuff together and organized but also to protect you from tech-savvy criminals and so definitely check these out I'll link up some of my favorites in the YouTube description question of the day what do you like to travel with and what are some of your travel gift ideas let me know in the YouTube comments section below so hey thanks so much for checking out this video make sure to subscribe here for more tech reviews audio reviews and video gear reviews and videos just like this and also don't forget to check out notes and links in the YouTube description below this video and hey you can check out the entire travel playlist different products i review essentials accessories things like that i'll put on the youtube card and i'll link that up in the youtube description as well if you're looking for more travel videos like this one thanks again for watching this video appreciate you so much until next time think media TV helped you go further faster in media we'll talk soon another awesome gift idea would be these really old binoculars does this look cluttered Cheers from Las Vegas to you wherever you are

Some of the things I swear by as I travel are a microfibre towel (super fast drying and easy to compact), a collapsable wind breaker/rain jacket, DJI Osmo mobile as a gimbal to stabilize my footage on my phone, DJI Mavic Pro for the drone shots, portable charger, and often times soccer/football jerseys for the countries that I'm visiting

You pretty much covered everything on my Christmas list haha. Some cheap gift ideas could be some compression socks or eye mask with ear plugs.

I love this channel. Traveling to Italy this summer and I have such a hard time picking out a camera just to record my family and maybe in the water. Also I would like a camcorder type of camera! THX 🙂

I got the QC25s, had them for 3 days then returned them. I completely HATED them! This is coming from someone thats owned Bose in-ear headphones for the last 3-4 years and five other Bose products over the last 10. There was just something about the noise canceling that I didn't like at all. I really liked them in the store, but once I got them home and wore them for a couple hours I couldn't stand them! Maybe if I traveled on a plane a couple times a week, then I could see a use for them. Otherwise, I don't have one.

Hi. You mentioned that you had a trip to Sourh Africa. How was the trip? Good or bad? I live in South Africa so it is always fun to hear what other people think when they pay us a visit. Regards.

You, my man, deserve many more subscribers! Great video! Very informative.

Aldin D98 · May 16, 2019 at 12:16 pm

Hey, you should definitely think of using a hotel room kettle instead of buying an iron or steamer, when the water boils the steam from the kettle can steam your clothes 😊

Random Minecraft Person · May 16, 2019 at 12:16 pm

The one kind of camera nit mentioned that is gat for traveling is pocketable megazoom. While they almost always lack the super high quality photos and video of a larger sensor camera like the S120 or G7X, the large focal range is great for composing various shots with one camera. Even with a 1-inch sensor there isn't much room to crop, but the long lens allows you to get shots that just wouldn't otherwise be possible.
