Tour of my corridor (dorm) in Sweden

Published by Darron Toy on

so first go up three flights of stairs then being spiral makes it slightly more fun about otherwise so much and there's a door here and then there's the door just like it on the other side trying not to pan too quickly for you guys so this way here's the holiday people live and here's the communal area there's Swedish people hello speech people and there's oh sorry all right I wish I apologize mostly Swedish people speaking swedish would probably be more accurate there's another kitchen over there long and there's the public area and here's my kitchen which is not usually that clean and then yeah Becky and a courtyard so yeah well again welcome back down the hallway like I said here's the hallway where people live but not me I'm actually this weird room in the middle it's kind of nice because it blocks off a lot of the sound of them being loud in the communal room but maybe so here's my room there's you walk in there's a bathroom the nice thing about being the only one in my my little weird room is I get my own shower everybody else shares a shower but it's pretty standard bathroom not bad in size um I hate there's this little bump out thing here which makes the shower stall much smaller but it's okay um and then there's my little toothbrush holder from Korea and it fits right at home here the toilets here a little weird looking like there's not a lot of water in the toilet but they're dual flush so that's nice and then I really like that um the medicine cabinet you obviously can't this is what I get to see look the top of my head but it opens and then it actually swings around like that so if I back up I can actually see my hair in the morning um but you know that's kind of over here we got the closet I also have a much bigger room and bigger closet than the other rooms do up here's where my luggage and stuff is which can't really reach um and then you know it's it's a closet again though Monica's short so I can just reach my clothes there's like my shoes my folding step stool which I'm really glad I brought and then I have this which the other people don't have in their room which is like another thing they have drawers like that but they're built into the other side and I've got a nice little rack for my hats and all my coats and then that's where I keep my recycling and then here's my room room nice and sunny um I've got a really big window there's my bed and the desk it's pretty standard a lot open space I'm thinking of getting a rug but yeah laundry um here's my view the bad time of day to do this hope you're not blinded terribly should I give you the view from that angle so not too shabby I really like how large my desk is because I can do computer and social stuff over here and then just shimmy on sideways and do my homework over here's the radiator see how it's turned on too full it's a myth it doesn't actually work it only turns on when the temperature gets down to a certain point and it's never going to get down to that point or it's it's it doesn't work it's no good so yeah here's my bed um it's a duvet cover is what they do here so like I pull this off and wash it and they don't do a top sheet it's just the cover of the sheet which makes it really quick to your bed but um yeah nice little bookshelf there's kind of my little mom shelf and then just all sorts of things oh I just bought this at the thrift store for $3 it's olan it's a lunchbox I'm I have a problem but anyway so that's my room and that's about it I can't think of anything oh one fun thing the bathroom this is the look like it's an actual key turns in the lock so that's fun all right there you go back

Hi! Do you happen to know how many square meter/feet the room is? (including bathroom/hallway). I'm hoping of following a semester in Sweden so I was just wondering ^^

This is one of the most amazing video I ever seen on youtube. I lived in the same room that you lived in and posted on youtube. I stayed there from 1990 until 1993. At that time it was a very cold place but I loved it. Thank you for posting this video. Erik Fager, a former student in political science.

Ah, it seems like just yesterday when I first arrived in my study abroad experience in Lund. Then I think back and realize it was 8 years ago. I was 20 at the time, different life, different world. So much has changed, but living there for a year will always be a part of me.
