Movistar isn't a team. Quintana just rides for himself. Team tactics? No way, Nairo went on his own.

Ivor Scrotumic · July 27, 2019 at 8:01 am

Liverpool, the cream of Europe. Will be watching out for that again today & tomorrow. 🙂

Just saw high resolution pic of Quintana on finish line and there's blood on his jersey. Anybody has explanation?

Erumster · July 27, 2019 at 8:01 am

i really wonder how the TdF would look like if Dumoulin didn't go down

Always watch highlights here in Eurosport as they have great respect for the sports by not SPOILING! unlike the official channel for this race, they put the winner in thumbnail! Always watch here!

Good for Quintana and Moviestar. Long since he has shown his potential – well done, what a victory! Well done by Alaphilippe too, gaining downhill what he lost uphill. I wish him luck and good legs – France deserves a winner this year.

I appreciate those thumbnails – its great that eurosport doesnt spoil this humble portion of sport emotions while watching this highligts. Good job (contrary to the official channel)

From what I saw today I actually believe Ineos is somewhat of a weird team (I get it that if a British wins the sponsor would be happier but you can't have that frame of mind at the TDF [hypothesis on why Geraint attacked, I hope it's wrong] ) . You have a fast climber up ahead with a ~40sec advantage on Alaphilippe that's increasing to an approx 1 minute gap at the top of the climb and you decide that Mas' tempo is too slow and you need to 'test' the others (Thomas words, not mine) . Now I'm not a pro cyclist but I know that if you have a teammate up ahead you don't have to do anything, just get the free ride up (Movistar is a different story tho, Landa didn't have the legs today) . By sprinting he got Alap. to fall behind 2-3m and chop away 10 seconds from Bernal's advantage, without even dropping the other GC riders. He just made it harder for his teammate up in front… I can believe that they planned this move for a while but you must adapt to the situation, even if it makes Geraint lose some time. He doesn't have the legs to make a difference, just because he has the n1 on his back it doesn't mean that he has to win. I believe Bernal will go away from Ineos asap unless there is a clear hierarchy in the team and right now, as it stands, he is number 1.

Don’t understand why G has to give way to Bernal. Rubbish

1234aaaa100 · July 27, 2019 at 8:01 am

Bravo nairo!! Great comeback win. Daredevil descent by alaphilipe.

Rob VGV · July 27, 2019 at 8:01 am

Today I lost my respect for Thomas

carl-friedrich95 · July 27, 2019 at 8:01 am

That was a bad attack by G and Ineos in the end. Bernal could have gained much more time..
