Stephansdom is "Gothic and Romanesque" architecture… idiot didn't even read the brochure…it's Baroque! And I didn't have to go to Vien to know this…just looked at this video!

Loved your video. Have been to Wein I think 4 times with a fifth coming this October. I also love river cruises and that is why I have been there so many times. The only bad thing is that river cruises do not allow extended visits such as yours. Thanks to your video 1 thing I did not know about but plan to do is that elevator at St. Stephen's. Hope the weather is cooperative.

violetlam7 · May 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

Amazing information and places. We intend to do it in October. Thanks guys.

Please come to Poland: Krakow is a must-see, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Warsaw should be also enjoyable.

Shirley W · May 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

What mode of transportation did you guys use to get between Prague/Vienna/Budapest? Was it by train and are their any companies you can recommend?

Martin C. · May 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

Very informative and helpful! I took notes as I was watching, since Iโ€™m planning a trip to Vienna.

0:34 St. Stephens was built outside of the city walls in the 13th century – so back then it certainly wasnt the center^^
1:17 You can pay a fee for: Elevator on the N-Tower (like in the video) where you can see the Pummerin, an important bell in Vienniese history and the worlds 2nd largest free swinging bell (completly missed by the video makers), aswell as visit the S-Tower (343 stairs, do not recommend if claustrophobic), visit the Catacombs and have guided tours both on the inside and outside where they explain portions of this important landmark.
1:44 To really explore all the sights in the inner (old) city it would take somewhere around a month. Every building there is at least 300y old, many much older then that.
1:46 Monument built in memoriam of the plague outbreak in the 17th century.
2:40 Some restaurants are generalists others are specialists – Schweizerhaus is part of the second group. There is one food item and one ONLY that you should pick if you go there: Stelze (+beer).
3:06 Im 90% sure the yellow being potatoes. btw did you notice all the ppl around drinking beer (you are in a beer garden)? What are u drinking?
4:42 The writer coffee house was Cafe Griensteidl. Every coffee house specialisted in a different group/subject of ppl whichfor there never was a "central meeting point". You went to the house where you would find your kind of ppl in. Central was more a political corner, specialy for leftwings.
7:04 Thats not the NHM but the New Wing of the Hofburg. contains the national library, some Imperial collections and the ball room among others.
7:07 Thats not the KHM the same thing as before.
7:45 The original colours of Schรถnbrunn were blue and silver/white.
8:42 Good restaurant choice, maybe I would have tried smth else (to not repeat dishes) like GrieรŸnockelsuppe, Tafelspitz and Kaiserschmarrn (4ex).
10:03 Ur finally getting intuned^^ Melange + pastry, now we are talking!
