The TRUTH About "Bad" Trips

Published by Darron Toy on

I do not promote the use of any drugs my intention for this video is for harm reduction and educational purposes only I'm very well aware that some people just cannot handle a challenging trip and it does leave them worse off so when I say things like bad trips are beneficial and that they can help us grow this is under the assumption that people will get through it they understand the trip and most importantly they integrate the experience as always be safe guys and do your own research hey guys your my time here and in this video I'm going to be talking about bad trips what they are how they are formed and why they're actually here to help us grow as human beings so bad trips that a fucking how these things can be quite terrifying and I've had my fair share of these um these bad trips right and you know some of these dark realms which you enter into during a psychedelic experience can be more frightening than anything that you've ever experienced in with Alice within this ordinary reality right because when you enter these type of realms um yeah you start diving deep into some really hardcore shit like fear does not even justify the magnitude of how petrifying and chilling these experience can be you can run into negative entities transport into hellish realms or it could even just be like this over amplified experience of strong negative thoughts and emotions which can be just as scary but just remember experiencing strong negative emotions during a psychedelic trip versus in ordinary reality completely different ballpark to short bad trips are usually terrifying encounters with our inner demons or shadow self and this can range from going to negative thought loops get into contact with demonic entities or just seeing some scariest shit visions really right and these experiences can be so intense and so horrifying and disturbing that they can cause a lot of shock and panic within a person especially if you resist and this reminds me of when I had a full-blown panic attack during heavy source I burn dose and I'd like literally thought I was dying and you know looking on hindsight I was like resisting right the whole time so it's kind of what you get because the thing about these substances is that as soon as you start fighting them off and like try to defend yourself from it yeah then you're you're fucked basically there's like we have a lot of skeletons that we bury a really deep within our attic that we've kind of been avoiding a whole life so sometimes a psychedelic can remove that filter and what could be so overwhelming that we just automatically resist and go on defense mode but yeah bad idea so the way bad trips are formed have very little to do with the substance itself but more to do with the nature of the ego and how it resists what the substance is trying to show you the ego despises your paradigm to be shifted in any way shape or form so it does whatever it can in its power to avoid unpleasant emotions right and this is why so many humans run away from their feelings right they run away from any issues or traumas they have to deal with and what usually happens when we keep sweeping it under the rug is that all these issues just keep stacking up in our unconscious mind until it grows and mutates into like this parasitic negative entity so when you finally do deal with these inner demons you fuckin got this huge Godzilla monster because you just kept avoiding your issues and this is what psychedelics force you to face especially during bad trips psychedelics especially when taking in really high doses remove the ego they remove this filter these blinders that we have on all the time but the thing is about the ego that doesn't just leave the room quietly right usually goes kicking and screaming right try to just cling on to this reality as much as it can and this is what usually causes a lot of these bad trips and this is exactly why it is of utmost importance to just let go and surrender to the experience because you can try fighting all you want against these demons but as soon as you close the door on them they're just going to start knocking and if you just wait it's just gonna start fucking banging on the door to a boost down the door and make matters a lot worse so just do what you can in your power to surrender the truth hurts as the saying goes right and you notice McKenna back in the day used to describe bad trips as learning faster than what we're accustomed to you know this really rings true for me and I couldn't agree more and it makes me realize that you know some people just aren't ready to face the truth and face themselves essentially people love to blame bad trips on the drug itself instead of taking responsibility that these are their own inner demons that they're facing and when you don't take responsibility of your own reality and when you don't realize that there is no separation between the inner and outer well then you're in real trouble believe it or not bad trips actually here to help us and it's these challenging experiences that are usually the most beneficial for our personal growth given that you understand what's happening psychedelics can show you areas in your life or personality traits that you need to work on they show you the shadow aspect of yourself you know the inner demons and if you understand duality you'll understand that these shadow counterparts of your own psyche is half of who you are the ego just doesn't like to admit it so it pushes the shadow issues outside of your field of awareness right into the abyss of the unconscious there's always a spiritual war going on guys period and the thing is that we're never going to be rid of our demons completely we're always going to be fighting them throughout our lives it's just about accepting and owning the parts that you don't like about yourself and using them to your advantage and you know this could just be trauma that we're holding on to that we don't even realize and these traumas might not even be ours but from someone else that we've picked up and mistaken as our own and this happens all the time and this has definitely happy with myself this reminds me of a psilocybin trip I had last year where I realized that I was holding on to all this anxiety like right here in my chest from my mother and but I didn't realize this throughout my whole life until that trip because the mushroom showed me that this wasn't mine and as soon as I realize it I was able to let it go and it was like oh my god so relieving it was the best and you know these traumas are usually stored somewhere in our bodies which is outside our field of awareness and this thing basically affects every aspect of your life – your behaviors your thought patterns your personality your perception on life like so on and so forth psychedelics are very infamous of forcing you to deal with these traumas face on right and they're very good I bring these issues to the conscious mind which allows you to finally give yourself permission to let it go and you know it really is like gasping for fresh air after holding your breath underwater for so long and is it oh it's really satisfying actually and it's sad because some people go through the whole lives just holding their breath underwater you know metaphorically speaking this process is quite destructive though as like any birthing process in nature and change by nature is destructive because to change who you are you have to literally destroy your old self and to destroy your old self at least via psychedelics you have to purge it outright use using catharsis to energetically release these negative emotions or whatever it is which can be very challenging to say the least and you know man like at the end of the day these negative entities are just different aspects of ourselves right there you they are you trying to teach you something they're actually here to help us grow they may manifest themselves as these negative archetypes that you may think at the time is like outside of you but this is not quite the case because everything in the universe is connected and we are all one at the end of the day so don't mistake these negative entities as nothing but a projection of your unconscious mind it's not always going to be angels and fairies and magical dragons and these light beings made out of love they're going to come into contact with you during these psychedelic trips these dark entities have just as much wisdom as these light beings I like to think of facing these inner demons like video game boss battles you know take like Dark Souls or Devil May Cry or any RPG really and you know when you face these bosses it can be extremely frightening and challenging and you may even get hurt or even die in the process right but then once we slay and overcome these bosses oh then life rewards us with the fruits of our labor nature or what courage after all right and just like in a video again when you do defeat a boss character don't get like all these new awesome benefits like experience points Lieut magical abilities you level up as a character you get all these attribution points you can even get like these cool new weapons and armor and rare items and all these tools that help you to become a fucking badass than the rest of your video game journey which will help you defeat bigger and badder enemies and this is the same in real life but instead of like you know dragon armor and weapons and magical abilities this comes in the form of higher awareness removing baggage increased emotional intelligence gaining new perspectives in life and all these awesome tools which you can utilize in your everyday life and in a practical way and again which will prepare you for the higher levels in which you have to reach when you progress in your real life and think about it once you finally do beat this boss battle as scary and frustrating and challenging as it can be once you finally beat him isn't it like the most amazing feeling ever especially when you do reap all these rewards and stuff like that same with psychedelic trips man based on my experiences is always something beautiful on the other side you just have to have the courage to just push through it and take that leap of faith alright guys so I'm going to wrap up this video in conclusion the fucking conclusion like I'm a fucking professor or something shoot your in conclusion anyway in conclusion there is no such thing as a bad trip there are only challenging ones and the main thing that you should remember when undergoing a challenging psychedelic experience is to surrender and to let go and just remember that you can always go to your breath which mad breathe deep breathing in and of itself can be of monumental help trust me so if you do find yourself in a sticky situation just seriously go to your breath which will help you be present and move through it and also remember not to go into like a fetal position or anything like that so if you are sitting down sit upright if you're laying down just lay on your back okay some of you may be wondering why is it that in some cases people after a bad trip they get negatively in their everyday life even for like months afterwards and in worst case scenario some people can even commit suicide which is sad but it's extremely extremely rare which you should not worry about especially if you do follow the guidelines and you are a relatively healthy human being but in terms of people getting bad trips or especially if they let their bad trip negatively influence their life afterwards it's usually because they don't understand the nature of their own mind or ego they don't understand duality they resist to the experience kicking and screaming they are not emotionally mature enough and just cannot handle a psychedelic experience period they think that it's the drug doing this to them instead of accepting that it's their own inner demons that they're encountering with and of course I go into a psychedelic experience with a really bad mindset and or have a really bad setting you know it's funny because every single person that I've ever met in my life who has had a bad trip and like not fuck they couldn't touch psychedelics again and they were never kind of the same it's cause of one or more of the reasons that I just listed and I guess one more reasoning which bat-ropes can fuck you up that I left out is because you're predisposed to Skitz a friend you know or something like that and it just induced psychosis within you so please guys prepare yourself for the psychedelic trips these are not child's play and they are to be respected I would really recommend for you to do just the basic work like learning subjects like psychology or about consciousness or the nature of the ego and doing practices like meditation or self inquiry now you know just do whatever you can to do just just to build the basic foundations within your own mind you know so that's it guys I hope you enjoyed this video if you did enjoy it please leave a big like and share it with your friends especially those who may have misconceptions about bad trips or to help somebody who has had a bad trip and help them understand it a little bit more but yeah if you haven't already please subscribe No shot i wish i saw this before doing 1/8 of shrooms all at once one go my 2nd time… i had a hell of a trip for 3 hours that felt like days… i freaked out a little inside my self but it made me think alot… realize stuff while there… and for some reason made me realize how beautiful life is and how ungrateful i have been…. i agree it helps but i wished i had some one to help me calm down at that moment… i had friends there but we were all tripping balls… :v… after i came back i felt different.

Honestly a bad trip is something everyone should experience

prestige wolf · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

I watched this during a bad trip and oh boy do I ever regret that

Biological Failures · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

The thing is I love myself during almost every trip, I’ve felt like I was physically going to die, but mentally it doesn’t feel like I hate myself at all, lsd makes me realise how good of person I am yet so silent to share it all on the outside because of social awkwardness.

I want that shirt!

The Count · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

I had a bad trip about 3 weeks ago on shrooms by myself. It was only the second time I had done them and I did probably around, shit I honestly don't even know, somewhere in the ballpark of 5-8g. About 2x more than the first time I did them. Scared the ever living shit out of me. This video makes me wanna do it again, with my sister who I'd done it with the first time. I ran the whole time, I tried to time it out, sweat it out, I puked twice within in the first hour and I went somewhere I didn't like. Now I know that if that happens again, I just need to let it happen and face whatever the shrooms are trying to tell me. I tried so desperately to hang onto reality during this bad trip that I found little to no joy in it. When I did have moments have peace, they were immediately diminished by thoughts of paranoia and anxiety. Literally crying for my mommy as a 26 year old man. I think the worst of it was the comedown, it felt like I was covered in a wax I couldn't shed. I never wanted to do them again after that but this video has sueded me to try again and face whatever is I should've in the first place. I feel like a part of me can't move on without doing them again, like I only went through half the process. And now that I've had a super intense bad trip filled with thought and physical loops, sporadic emotion and a deep unsettling dose of reality, I feel I can only grow if I put myself through it again, this time with full intent of letting it envelope me, no matter the road that manifests. Of course keeping comforts around and having music that brings me peace under normal circumstances on standby.

Michal Kowalski · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Exotic Flower · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

I’ve always wanted to try shrooms to have an eye opening psychedelic experience but I’m a new mom now and currently breastfeeding so I have to at least wait a year to finally try it.

IceDexx MC · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Well i took MDMA with a mini dose of LSD, but i didnt know that so i got home and smoked some weed.. Yeah didnt end that well, i though i would die and i felt the pain that was the worst part.. But believe it or not but after that trip i am not scared oft dying anymore

G Land · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

You said that you can’t compare the trip with fear. Would you maybe call it like almost insanity

Crazysoda Gamer · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Love your video thank you 🙏

notagoon695 · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

How do I actually conform to a bad trip? How the fuck was I suppose to let that happen?

alyssa28132 · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Life had sense… never will it have again… ive seen real truth and our existence is meaningless… i want to share what i know but i will never… i still remember i love my fellow humans… people dont use drugs…better enjoy inborn ilussion … you really dont wanna see how small you are

Billy Bob · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

When having a bad trip, does "letting go" mean you'll have an ego death? I was having a bad trip once and I was resisting and fighting it so much because I was scared I was gonna have an ego death and not be normal when I return back to sober state

Joel · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Compared to DMT and shrooms, LSD is more of a middle ground, definitely the one I’d recommend to beginners, less daunting

M M · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Cricket Legend · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

I had a bad trip where I got raped by a demon, thankfully I woke up and it was just my uncle

Dave Schulz · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

I have taken lsd and shrooms a hundred times . I figure 95 of those times high were steller and out of sight who cut your hair man ! About 5 of those times were unpleasant so lets call it a bad trip . It is the law of averages . If you an electrician you could get electracuted. This is the same thing . If you do psychedelics enough your due for one bad trip so prepare yourself for it mentally . On my second bad trip I was better mentally prepared for it and changed course by imersing myself in infinity. I was affraid I would not come back after my fall down the rabbit hole .

Fresh Off A Spaceship · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

I am slowly developing a "respect" and almost "excitement" for the challenge because I always hold onto (bear with me on this) the optimism that I am going to learn from this. I still feel scared, I still act like a scared 4 year old on a bad trip (crying, irrational thought, sometimes screaming) but I come out feeling like I tricked the trickster, and I feel a deeper understanding of myself after the fact. Good trips can give the same profoundness, but I feel like every trip has a challenge.

Helyo FM · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

The shrooms are like the red pills in Matrix, they show you the truth

Name Changed · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Oh psychedelics

Channel Life · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

This makes me want to take psychedelic

Ron · July 30, 2019 at 11:54 pm

When you say that it makes you face "the truth" and some people may not be able to handle the truth. Can you give me an example of this?
