Pit Bull and His Mom Go on a Road Trip to Meet Farm Animals l The Dodo Destination: Firsts
Theo was abandoned when he was a tiny puppy and he was actually rescued by another Pit bull. Without that "hero dog", Theo would not be here today. Theo was lying, whimpering, in an abandoned building in Jersey City. He had sustained a severe head injury. He was not able to stand. He couldn't see. He was barely alive at that point. Day by day, he just surprised everyone. He got stronger and stronger, and it was just ten days after he was found that I was able to bring him home. Kiss, kiss. Theo has a very calm disposition, especially when meeting new people. And so it had occurred to me that he might be a great candidate as a therapy dog. And once a week we go to our local hospital, where he spreads some joy in the infusion unit. Okay Theo, what are we going to pack? Life can be pretty hectic here, and so I'm really looking forward to taking Theo on an adventure that's just for him. Somewhere he can run free and just enjoy a complete different pace of life for a couple of days. Are you ready Theo? Do you want to see inside? Go on Theo. He really embraces every new experience and every situation that I put him in. He also has a very goofy side to him. He leaps like a little deer and he bounces. He actually tore his ACL doing so. He is wearing a brace until it heals. Theo truly embraces life with gusto. Theo, look. It's your first time seeing a donkey. Aw, donkey kisses. It's really amazing to me that, although he suffered so terribly as a tiny puppy, he is just so open, and loving, and trusting. Theo look at the goats. The llamas, their all rescue Theo, just like you. Many people have said to me that Theo has changed their minds about Pit bulls. Especially with his rough start in life, that he is now an ambassador for this incredible breed is really the highest compliment that he could ever get. Theo has had the time of his life. Obviously Theo had a difficult start, but with adventures like this trip he is really experiencing a full and very happy life now.
