As a Canadian, I'm often asked if I can even tell when someone is American. They usually have a look about them when they come here, that's something of a, half fascinated, half judgemental. Then they'll say something like "Where is the Dunkin's" either sarcastically or seriously to nail it home.

It's funny to me that they say Americans are loud bc our family has Salvadorian and Nicaraguan friends and they speak SO LOUD. Even if they are on the phone, they are literally screaming lol

These people are all referring to older Americans who are retired and on vacation.
Of course they're going to be fucking happy smiling everywhere, they're on vacation without a care in the world.

We are fascinating by old buildings because the oldest buildings you'll ever find is from the colonial period that could be commonly found, so castle and stuff don't exist really

I used to live in Hawaii. You could tell that someone came from the mainland because tourists would do the stupidest shit ever, once I went to a scenic view of a beach with blowholes. You weren’t allowed to go onto the beach. It was obviously stated with signs, but some tourists decided it was a good idea to get a close up photo. Now police have to watch the area. There was also a dumbass who fell into Kilauea, the MOST active volcano into the world. He didn’t die, but it took hours for rescue teams to arrive to save him. So fucking stupid.

If a American says there American they tend to be a American stereotype

I live in Canada so if you were American I wouldn't notice

DickChocolate01 · May 30, 2019 at 2:19 pm

You’re not free if you’re not loud!

deaja Xo · May 30, 2019 at 2:19 pm

Guess we smile too much.

Usually bc there stood outside a block of toilets in a dodgey London alley taking pictures.

Is the “Sweet Caroline” one because we go “BAH BAH BAH” after they start to sing the chorus? Lol

Edit: the one that said “running sneakers even though they’re massively overweight” pissed me off. There are times when sneakers are the most sensible option for the activity or length of the walk. The person could be losing weight and trying to be more active. Screw you, guy!

I wonder if this is actually how americans are, or how middle class and up people that can afford to go on these vacations act.

We accept tips in Pennsylvania! We just want to make sure you want your change and not assume because that can cause conflicts and confusion.

in britian, they always seem to wear dad hats and cargo shorts, especially when it is really cold, (always) and they are always working on a laptop in costa coffee.

I was studying abroad in Japan for half a year. The other students were surprised when I said I was American, as they thought we were all fat and loud when I’m quite skinny (albeit a bit over average height), quiet, and don’t show my teeth when smiling.

7:26 why the F*** didn't they accept dollars? I have traveled to 12 different nations and not once have I not been able to use US dollars for general transactions, hell I've been to both Russia and Estonia and I have been able to pay USD for everything in both.
