I've watched countless videos and no one comes close to explaining the ETC as well as you do. Once I get those stacks, I will be sure to donate to your channel.

I have a degree in biochemistry from UC Berkeley. This is one of the best descriptions and elaborations of the ETC (OxPhos) I have ever seen. Kudos to you. And … it shows NADH (and FAD) not NAD+ are critical. Also show the need for Fe (Iron).

NUCLEOTIDE METABOLISM VIDEO PLEASE T_T

Chad Aitken · July 30, 2019 at 9:11 am

I second all of the positives comments on this lecture. Does he ever go over how the Mitochondria malfunctions by not having enough of (Nad, CoQ10, copper, iron) and can we measure how fast or effective (is there a score) test to take that will tell us our ETC metabolism?
We know this process is the key to overall health.

hi does it have 2 Q complexes or does Q drop off electrons from one to III then comes back for the electrons from II ?

In our book it says Cyt c and here is said that it is Cyt b does someone knows why? Thanks for the greate video.

Xi Chen · July 30, 2019 at 9:11 am

Thank you so much for the explanation. But I'm wondering where does the energy released from complex II go? Is it just dissipated as heat and lost to the surroundings? Or is there any physiological significance in this?

Great lecture! One question: What happens to the protons from FADH2 after they are picked up by FMN in complex 2?
