Cycling is nice, mining the Arctic isn't.

You need to be put on display in a zoo, with a big sign that says DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS. ROFL.

OliveTreeDweller · September 3, 2013 at 5:10 pm

I'm a citizen of Athens. I wish Ice Ride succeed in our town too!!

itburnswithin666 · September 14, 2013 at 6:30 pm

To all you ice-riders in sweden who have been told to "make some noise" at Statoil and Shell, you do know that Statoil ASA doesn't own the gas stations in Sweden anymore, right? They were bought by a canadian company with no connection to your precious Arctic oil drilling. What kind of propaganda are you greenpeace nuts feeding your "members"?

carlitos2012ace · September 15, 2013 at 12:22 pm

The artic? No way ,do not touch it, thanks for the info

JoeBTJ · September 26, 2013 at 1:54 pm

Oh well. Turns out you're fucking wrong. What a surprise…. statoil [dot] com/en/About/Worldwide/NorthAmerica/canada/OffshoreCanada/Pages/BeaufortSea.aspx

itburnswithin666 · September 26, 2013 at 2:13 pm

Turns out you didn't understand a fucking thing I wrote, no surprise there really.. What I was saying only concerned Greenpeace in Sweden at first and secondly I was saying that Statoil ASA (the company that is drilling in the your precious Arctic) does NOT the gas stations in Sweden anymore. Do you understand me now, you narrowminded fuck? I am NOT saying that Statoil is drilling, I am simply saying that they don't own us in Sweden anymore.

itburnswithin666 · September 27, 2013 at 10:16 am

It's like talking to a brick wall! I'm sure your children really appreciate what you're doing for this planet (whatever it is you're doing)! You must be their hero! To bad they will never get to ride or drive a car, flying or anything that use gas cause then you are just as bad as I am right? I doubt the planet will die just cause of some oil drilling brah!

JoeBTJ · September 27, 2013 at 5:50 pm

What?! What?!?! WHAT?!?!?! There have been some stupid comments here, but this one really takes the biscuit!

Joe Dundee · September 28, 2013 at 10:32 am

Alistuzlak, I am surprised by your comments regarding earth reproducing oil the whole time. At least you acknowledged that it is being reproduced slowly. The reality is that it has taken millions of years to produce the oil that we are currently using and only hundreds of years to use it all up. What will we do then? It is plain common sense that we should be thinking about the very long term future of humanity and protecting what we have for future generations.

Joe Dundee · September 28, 2013 at 10:36 am

To all the people who are swearing and calling each other names, please stop. The fact that you are participating in a discussion indicates some level of intelligence, so please don't degrade that by swearing and calling each other names. We may have different opinions, but maybe we can respect and learn from each other.

The bike ride worked! Arctic ice is highest now in a decade.  Global ice is 4th highest in 35 years!

Abbath · December 11, 2013 at 4:29 am

The polar Ice caps are melting on Mars so you guys got a lot of bike riding to do.

Jess Hansen · December 11, 2013 at 6:53 pm

"The light green below shows the growth of one metre thick ice over this date last year. There is 51% greater coverage of thick ice compared to last year, and the new ice is perfectly located in the western Arctic to survive the winter and thicken. The news couldn’t possibly be worse for climate scamsters."

Mikko Mansikka · February 9, 2014 at 12:17 am

No matter what, global warming did exists even during mammoths were living while there wasn't any industry going on. It's a simply fact that our small Tellus does not exists forever.
