Do you guys pack any "weird" items for your mobile trading setup?

AJ M · July 29, 2019 at 10:17 am

Thanks for the video! Recently I added this cool gadget to my home & travel trading setups:

I use it as my new hotkey panel. I don't need to use my keyboard for hotkeys anymore, which greatly reduces hotkey mistakes. Stream Deck offers so much flexibility with regards to programming hotkeys and customizing the buttons. I can't recommend it enough. It works with any platform that supports hotkeys, including DAS Trader Pro.

There's also a smaller version of it that has 15 keys instead of 32.

That's too much. I travel too. I only have one laptop and a cell phone. I use a cell phone when I'm away from my hotel. If I'm at a bar, I would just use a cell phone to buy/cell stock.

AJ M · July 29, 2019 at 10:17 am

Madaz! Thanks a lot for this video, man! I've got 1 question & a few tips for you:

1. Can you post the link of your USB-C hub?

1. For my setup (I use it for both home & travel), I have 3 displays of the following model: (I plan to add a 4th one soon):

So this way I'll travel with 4 super light portable displays + I've got my laptop's display.

2. The above display model is actually the second newest model of the ASUS Portable USB displays lineup. The newest one has a built-in battery that the display uses before it starts drawing power from the laptop. I didn't go for it because this isn't something I need & it's a little heavier than the one above. Here it is anyways:

3. You can't connect all of these directly to your laptop because they require too much power & because you'll run out of ports. You'll need a USB hub that has its own power supply, the higher the power output, the better. I recommend the following model. I also recommend connecting no more than 4 USB displays to the hub and leaving 2 vacant USB ports between each display & the next to ensure connection stability:

4. Since both the above display models have a USB-C port, and the hub itself has USB 3.0 ports, you'll need a USB-C to USB 3.0 cable. Don't use the adapter that comes with the display, it's complete trash. Use this cable:

5. My setup has my laptop's display in the middle, 2 displays on the right (on top of each other), and two on the left (also on top of each other). I use the folio case that comes with the displays as a stand for the lower displays on the table level. For the upper displays, I use the following stand:

6. Keep an eye on the following display model. It was announced at CES 2018 but it's yet to be released! 21.6" 4K OLED – Completely portable, super light & does not require its own power source! Game changer! There's currently nothing like it in the market! The latest reports I've read claim that it might be coming out next month. but according to a couple of European websites, the price tag is around 5,000 Euros! That's insane!

7. I also find this portable power strip super handy for when I don't have access to multiple adjacent wall sockets:

8. This cables & electronics organizer is perhaps the best way to neatly pack your cables & small peripherals. I never travel without it:

But also check out their website because they've got many more alternatives:

9. I also use a wireless mouse & wireless keyboard, but I know that's not your thing!

I hope this helps! Thanks!
