That is interesting! Don't you have any video about Morocco, do you? Thanks

Jock Meston · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

I think the best suggestion about France is reminding people how important courtesy is here. It's essential to say bonjour, s- il vous plait, au revoir, bon journée, things like that. Especially bonjour before anything else like asking a question or ordering something. It doesn't mean a lot but not doing it does, I think this is why people who don't know this think French people are rude. If you start by not saying bonjour or bonsoir then you've instantly insulted them and everything after will go that little bit worse.

Wow you travel so much

Curtis Carpenter · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

I just realized why I'm oddly entranced by listening to you talk.. you have all the mannerisms , vocal inflections and at times lack there of that my bestfriend growing up had, ur smile, upbeat attitude reminds me of him so much it's a trip. He has long hair, looked like laid back goofy stoner jesus maybe just a little skinnier in the face as he was English and didnt carry any weight on his face. I wish I could post a pic so youd understand the similarity hahah but thats be inappropriate. Thanks for the fond reminder of an old friend.

Just subbed love ya man keep it up

Sandra Chavez · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

Maybe one has to be Caucasian to get treated fairly while traveling. We didn't have a great experience with Parisians, and I speak French. The food was great though.

Living Walks · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

We've just filmed a 4k city walk in Bordeaux, it may shock you how very beautiful it is. I'd have to say it's at the top for
me. It's encouraging to discover how we can share and learn so much from each other. Thank you Mark.

Are there any French people in France?

One of the things that shocked me when we visited Paris last year in August was the massive amount of bees in the city. They were everywhere . We went with our two year old , and every time we ventured out for a walk in certain places or sat down at a park, they would hover around us . Naturally I was worried that my 2 year old would get stung. Thankfully he didn't. But I did !!! . I did some researching on Google and sure enough there was an influx of beekeeping within the city especially around Luxembourg Gardens area .

Mike No · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

Just got back from France 3 days ago. Paris. Reims then went to Belgium and Amsterdam. This is all true. Everyone was smoking where I went lol the food is absolutely amazing. Best I’ve ever had. Ever. I was eating just plain bread and I was so happy

Overly Concerned Comments · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

I'm french and i approve this video!

I have a few bonus tips for you from my perspective :

1 – Be overly polite. Don't be afraid to tell the waiter things like "c'était très bien merci" or say hello to everyone when entering a small shop. We value communication in shops and restaurants and even in the street so don't hesitate to talk with strangers. And when in doubt start sentences with an apology.

2 – Don't talk too much about how much you love Paris unless you're in Paris.

3 – If you go to Marseille check your pockets because every kid can be David Copperfield.

4 – Fancy places are very very snobby and embarrassing sometimes. Better avoid them unless you're rich, this isnt real France and this is where you'll find stereotypes about our rudeness.

5 – Regional peculiarities : North West has the most welcoming and warm people. In South East people yell and touch you all the time but don't be afraid (this is me) . South west food will blow your mind, you're not even mentally prepared for it. North east is multicultural and a great place to get contacts and continue your travels through Europe. Corsica is paradise but they hate everyone else. There's only trees and cows in the middle.

Have fun if you come! 🇨🇵🇺🇲🥰

man I love your videos

DmY808 · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

The 3rd world conditions in Paris was i guess shocking, But Trump said it was bad and when i went to see for myself he's right. Never going back to Paris. Stay in the small towns where it actually looks and feels like France. People are great and food is great. Stay out of the big cities unless you want to visit North Africa. That is what the locals told me. I couldn't help but laugh when i heard that.

Going on a WWII tour with my school: Warsaw & Krakow, Poland (3 days); Berlin, Germany (3 days); Paris, France(4 days). Ending it on the Canadian WWI memorial ceremony in France for the fallen soldiers of the battle of Vimy Ridge 🇨🇦. (The Royal family of Britain and Prime Minister of Canada will be there!)

Any tips specifically for my trip? Or anything at all that I should/shouldn’t do?

Sam Farnsworth · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

They smoke like it's a cure for cancer. And ya, they are rude. I've been there.

Dr. Conflict · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

Paris is super over-rated! Disgusting city just like Brussels.

Alfred Newman · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

dog crap all over the streets? I'll go somewhere else…

Vilhelmas Sadowski · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

I'm part French but when I went to France I felt like an outsider and a stranger… I was hoping to meet people of similar ancestral ties but instead what I got was another typical international hub like London or New York with no real identity- just monoculture with the same faces.

And for the love of God, France is more than food.. It seriously irritates me when people think a country is just their food.. You can get French recipes anywhere. I wanted to see real French people, the ones I had family ties to but I was denied that because of DivERsItY. Ain't nothing diverse about France. It's just like London, New York, Chicago, etc. Its sad.

Lava Yuki · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

I was shocked by the smoking, and how young people start. I noticed kids that looked 11 or 12 smoking and all the tobacco stores

Samantha Gaudet · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

I totally agree that France is not just Paris. We went to Normandie, The Loire, and the Alsace region as well as 9 nights in Paris but the other parts were by far my favorite. I would say Honfleur and Eguisheim were my 2 favorites but we loved all of it. Every baguette, every cafe and every roundabout.

krotsin · May 31, 2019 at 7:11 am

№4 kinda shocked me. I definitely like to touch fruits and vegetables to see if they're ripe or not old.

Man, youve got me drooling. I gotta go, reeeal soon. Italia too. Those people really know how to live! No crazy rushing around like here in the US. Wanna see the spot in the church in Avignon where Petrarch met his Laura. And visit the boulageries.
