Found Gold in Creek! Mountain Camping Trip Panning

Published by Darron Toy on

welcome to another episode of camping with Steve in the mountains of BC we are going to start the fire we are going to cook a meal you know all the usual stuff that we always do and then there is a big day gonna do some gold panning in the morning tomorrow after I hunker down for the night and get a good sleep so stay tuned fire time it's that mosquito time again so I'm gonna start the fire got the my secret concoction in there it should night without too much of a problem and of course your cancel with Steve time to eat something we're gonna cook some hobo chili tonight with some biscuits so hobo chili pretty simple I just threw a bunch of stuff in there ground beef next step chili mix next step diced up mushrooms onions etc can of actual chili for good luck I know I could have just made regular chili next step smidgen of water we're good luck and stir it up and cook it throw it on low and cover it up can't have chili without biscuits so we've got this quick mixed it up gonna cook it in the barbecue here because it's kind of like an oven and we've got it so why not it's a little little dark out here but that's that's like yeah they're your little ugly looking good whatever it's camping biscuits now we'll get back to blasting the Johnny Cash because the bears don't like it what we do yum-yum-yum the biscuits actually turned out pretty good for in the barbecue and chili is well it's just chili so gonna eat this hunker down and in the morning we have a few good spots to explore yeah you can use a barbecue for making Bush biscuits but it's got to be quick because they were starting to get a little bit singed anyway YUM right on this is so relaxing out here he's a little fire gonna turn on the electric fence for the night and it's been a while since I put the tester on it I want to see how many volts it's putting out because as it shifts around there can be grass that interferes with the way it should function anyhow well over here in the shack all set up for the night there's one thing I didn't mention it's carbon monoxide alarm I bring this with me all the time I don't always completely mention it because I can't mention everything in every video but it's always there you don't want any problems in the middle of the night speaking of which I also have I keep a knife in this Olfa in this pouch beside the bed that way if there is a problem to have to cut my way out of the tent I can easily do that ah that's pretty much it got the Eco fan going blows the heat around the tent so that's pretty much it gonna go and edit up more video and hunker down for the night and then in the morning we got another full day of exploring adventures gold mining etc etc etc so see you guys in the morning for breakfast good morning from the mountains we're gonna make some breakfast except our breakfast it's gonna be yesterday's leftover chili cuz we made an awful lot of that I don't like to waste food so we got some stuff to do gonna go explore there's a lake down there I want to check out I'm gonna hook up our electric fence a little bit differently so we can control it from the outside I'm gonna stick a gold pan in the river got to get supplies got to do a lot of stuff today so we should be pretty productive and we'll we'll just keep going now I know for a fact this is certainly grizzly territory but the lack of tracks and any evidence when they should probably be coming out of hibernation right now let's me to believe I'm probably a couple of weeks early that's okay because I'm gonna be back here a couple of weeks for quite a while with beautiful wife so it is just a great place I love this it's truly truly God's country we found a lake campfires prohibited day use only yeah they sound like fun people Oh found a lake I don't cuz these board lungs hey there's a canoe over there right on I know what I'm gonna do when I come back here with Jess we like canoeing no these are not gonna support my weight beautiful leg though it's uh we just thought we'd come check this Lake out cuz it was close by to where we camped and of course crazy neighbor found it out I was here and he dropped his bear spray in it we're now we're operating with one bear spray and yeah so be careful with your bear spray if you're using an outhouse the storm has subsided but not before we decided to start building a tripod to put over the tent and tarp it in so we're gonna continue on that crazy neighbors done this a whole bunch I've I understand the philosophy behind building a tripod but I'm gonna let him take the lead here couple rocks loosely not too tight if you don't know how to tie knots tie lots I don't know how to tie notes I'm gonna pick up this end right here as you click up down there and walk that way and then you get to a bunch here and you plant it in the ground we've just moved the tripod over to the fire because it'll be a lot easier than moving it fully built [Applause] and there we go all protected from the wind which has died down as soon as we got it finished so I'm not hoping for more wind but if it does come we're ready I melt here so I'm sticking a fan in the red – license of an inside turn on the river here this size are better courts problems one of us real quick to see if we've got any Steve the city the screens died so now she prepared I normally don't come across such a nice and when your test bag the bigger stuff because they didn't bring my screen this part of the pan at the lowest spot because that's where the gold is gonna collect right a spot when you shake it up it's a slurry and it all sounds back to save every spare out skull you have another pocket underneath of you in case you drop any fine gold afloat so you use but I just thought was thinking no nuggets it's down to the points when I'm test banning that I can actually just start back patting this you know if we got closer up into there you can actually see some gold particles right in there those are all fine flower gold and that's a good indication that there should be some gold in this Creek here I don't see a lot of black sands just a lot of kind of really fine flower gold is what you call it there's enough there I may actually just stake the mineral claims on this because yeah I don't know if that can be seen from that camera but I'll put the other camera on it we'll see what we got so successful a little bit of gold panning there your gold-mining Steve now I'm colorblind so I don't know what you can see but I'm just in a shadow here and yeah there's a lot of flower gold fine gold particles what fellow wants to focus on the top of the water anyway if you can see them that's what's in the creek and we were lucky about that on the first pan in there thanks for following on this adventure we're going to get ready for another day here I'm kind of starting the videos in the evening finishing them off made afternoon ish so thanks for watching so far if you haven't subscribed and you liked it you know what to do and if you don't like it you can also subscribe thanks a lot now you're camping with Steve

Dan Burch · May 14, 2019 at 10:25 am

I can just imagine your forest service seening that thick black column of smoke and calling for fire dispatch. Fire: "Where's the fire?" Steve: "No fire. Just cooking dinner."

Jason · May 14, 2019 at 10:25 am

Watch out, a water bomber might dump a load of water on you

novaflux00 · May 14, 2019 at 10:25 am

You should get a string of water proof leds to put above your cooking area.

Hey Steve! Im a guy who's 20 year's old living in southern Ontario. I recently watched your boondocking documentary and it has inspired me to start saving for my own van. I don't currently have anything tying me to my location so I'm free to go anywhere. I can't wait.
