DIY Passport-sized Paperdori! (Paper Traveler's Notebook)

Published by Darron Toy on

hey guys I'm back with another video and as I guys told you I make this paper dirty ones ones like a week ago right bank and I decided to make you guys a DIY video on how I did this so let me zoom in first so this is what it looked like so it's just paper and plastic foil with an elastic just like any other kind of media travelers notebook and you can just stuff any kind of insert in here as well so I'm going to show you how I make this from scratch alright so first what you're going to need is your scrapping paper scrapbook paper whatever kind of paper you want to use this is actually pretty thick paper as I can tell and it's an a world team that I'm going for you know I love traveling so I want to try making a travel team passports duty so this is a scrapbook paper that I came up with and I'm going to use the back for this one this is going to be for the inside of my ability so it will be like this so when you open it it's like that and the size of this is 21 centimeters and length and width it's thirteen centimeters so yeah those are the measurements of these of these sizes and then you're also going to need some plastic foil so this is going to be to protect our paper just like I used here that makes it shiny as well mmm so some plastic foil to pieces to be exact so these measurements are 27 and 19 centimeters 27 and 19 so I'm going to be using these two protects this and what you're also gonna need is scissors a let me see where I put it Oh a ruler so this is also to like cut this paper so you're going to need it anyway this is actually some kind of needle thingy it's just easy to make my holes I'll show you want to use it for then a card whatever kind of plastic card it will be to make sure the plastic rollers leave any bubbles RS not as many bubbles then a thick needle as well just a fake needle any kind of charm that you want to use mine's a a little bag see if I can show you the data noop it doesn't want to work with me anyway so this is a little bag that I felt would fit nicely with the travel team and then also some thin wire I can hardly see it and of course some elastic you will definitely need this okay so let's get started I actually forgot one more thing which is some glue stick and I'm going to use this kind of blue tape thingy this will be to put these two pieces together so okay now let's get started so first what you're gonna do is you're going to take your scrapbook paper whatever kind of paper you want to use and I'm just gonna take these two pieces together so like this I decided that this will be the friends of my password floating like that so I'm just gonna go ahead and stick these two together I'm just going to use this tape thingy am I doing this right tip it besides to learn quickly I'm just going to go over that and there as well at the bottom two here on the left side it's a pretty cheap one you can probably hear it you know how I am I'm gonna go make a cross kind of and then the rest of it I'm gonna use my glue stick just some simple glue stick and glue a little bit in the middle as well this one's pretty old actually look at that well at least it will stick nicely sums it o over to like that somewhere here okay that should be sticky enough and now I'm going to stick this on here so make sure it's right and just stick it on there like that I think that's okay I just I'm going to use my card as well here so it will definitely stick them nice like that so that's about right it's not perfect as you can see it has a little bit of a border at the top so I'm just gonna dump that off it doesn't have to be perfect you guys know my stuff is never perfect but that's fine so I'm just going to cut out a little bit of the excess here at the top there we go that's better so we have our base now so what I'm going to do it this is optional is I'm also going to make sure that the corners are round ironic punch so I'm just going to make the corners round this is because I like that kind of look it's more softer and I'm just gonna punch this okay you just quite a lot of start I'm going to stand up for this there we go the other one as well and the last one okay there we go finished so now the base is ready it already looks pretty nice I think but the most important is the protection you don't have to do this it's optional but I prefer and I suggest you do it because if it gets dirty you can just clean it off whatever because it's just plastic so let's go so all I'm going to do here is grab one of the plastic foil sheets and I'm gonna take it off okay this is not going to be perfect and again you will see how messy I can get but no it turns out all right so I'm just gonna go like this take it how messy and clumsy make sure it's straight does not have to be perfect and I'm just gonna go wow this is like I couldn't have any worse than this done oh come on it will seem frustrated at its plastic for many many times so just try and make sure it's straight okay that's about right and I'm just gonna peel this softly as I'm trying to get rid of some bubbles here so just like that I'm gonna go over this with my card okay like that okay that works out fine even if it wasn't perfect so yeah like that I'm just going to rub it some mores to make sure it doesn't have any bubbles there we go and how it's stuck to my desk and take it off now just one I'm going to I'm going to cut off the excess here because we don't need dad so I'm just gonna cut it off Wow it just cut off itself okay Missy Missy just gonna cut it off there we have it so the inside is now plastic as you can see but now the outside is the most important so we're going to do the same but now I'm really going to have to make sure it's nicely in the center so it's not gonna be easy but I have to try so make sure it has a border at the bottom so that we can flip it over later so I'm just going to have to make sure I do it right MC so again use your cart to rip over it like that and there we go so it's not perfectly in the center but it'll do if you look at it rub over it a few times use a lot of strength like that and I'm going to take this off wow that was pretty loud and now I'm going to actually I'm going to flip this over to the inside so I'm just going to cut off the piece here like that and here I just rip off the excess because you guys know is I'm not really precise and neck high so just going to cut off a piece dad and here as well so just do it for all four corners so and then here as well this is pretty cheap plastic for actually so it might have some kind of weird bubble thing going on but that's fine so the front looks nice so now I'm just going to flip over these sides like that again I am not really perfect perfect at dis kind of stuff and I'm going to use my card to rip over it so I'm doing this because this makes sure it's a lot more secure at the edges and it also won't cut you because you know paper can be kind of dangerous so I'm gonna do the same gonna rub it one time at the other side as well so just gonna go ahead and stick it okay it has a few foil folds here but that's fine is the inside so it doesn't matter that much for me at least it can be more secure like alright and then the other side as well and just rub it with your card again there we go and then here as well so as you can see like it's not very even but it doesn't have to be so I have to be perfect there we go so now the base is ready so you can just fold it this has few too many just a little bit okay and then when you fold it it will be your duty so you can kind of tell what it's going to look like already um but first it's a pretty thick one as well so you can put like a lot of inserts in here as you can see but first we're going to have to add some elastics so I'm going to use my ruler to the site where the center is 21 is about ten and a half so it's about here and I'm just gonna make a little small this may be about half a centimeter maybe I'll just zoom in for this that's better so half a centimeter there maybe around here so I'm just going to make a little room and I'm gonna go to it like that there we go so I made a little hole now so this is the center when I fold it yeah that's perfect so I'm I need a little hole here and then about half a centimeter depends on how how white you want this to be I'm gonna make another one on a straight line as straight as I can I'm gonna go do the same at the bottom so I'm just gonna use my ruler to make sure it's even and it should be around here and I'm gonna make a hole again this is really easy to use actually and further you can see I kind of do this on feel but yet if you want to be more precise go ahead so there we go and then one hole left this will be for the elastic to put around your dhoti this has to be in the middle exactly six-and-a-half that should be here I'm going to punch it there you go so now we are going to add elastics so let's see zoom out a bit you can see this fold is not perfect but you know it's just a demonstration I also use it though because I like to travel team so it I'm going to go ahead and cut off a piece of elastic long enough just to make sure I can get pretty I really wanted to be long enough so most of the times I cut it way too long which is kind of stupid but anyway and I'm going to use my needle and my fin wire which I can't see fine it fell off my table of course anyway here is so we're gonna use this and I'm going to go ahead and put it around it this is 2m insert the elastic in the needle because it's too thick otherwise so then I just gotta go to it and I can just pull it like that at least if it wants to work with me okay I'm gonna use a tool just because my strength is non-existent I'm just gonna yeah that didn't work out so I got it through there and I had to get a thicker needle because the smaller one didn't want to work with me as you can see but anyway so get make sure you get that elastic through there and now we're going to start and add the elastic so first let me just check one second so I finally got the elastic food ere I had to go and grab a thicker needle because just didn't want work with me I'm just gonna go punch those holes one more time so that the needle will be able to fit through there like that just punch it a bit there we go and now I'm gonna go and insert the elastic so first what I'm going to do is I'm going to add around this side the top first hole and I'm going to pull it through my dad pull it through and leave a piece like that long enough and now I'm going to go to the back and go back in there so the other one next to it utter hold next to it and I'm go go ahead and pinch it like this then I'm going to go back to the back back to the bags through this one here so not the last one the other one I'm going to pull it true about my directions must be terrible seriously like this and now I'm going to go back again from the back like so I'm just going to punch this a little bit and there we have it so the elastic is true and again it's like way too long seriously and I'm going to go ahead and pull it so now you have to make sure that it's um tight enough so that the new books won't go anywhere so our notebooks here so I'm just going to go ahead and test it one more time so like when you're done pull it through gotta make sure it sits well like that so let's take this one so just make sure it's tight enough so I just made it just tight enough not too tight as well and I'm just going to make a knots did it and make sure it's tight like I said so this should be tight enough maybe it's a bit too tight actually gonna loosen it a bit if I still can maybe just a bit more sometimes like you don't get it perfect from the first try open this a little bit that's got to be better and I'm just gonna tighten this knot like that and I'm gonna make it or not just to make sure that it doesn't open and then I know one and another one there we go then it will definitely be secured in and I'm just going to cut off the excess elastic like that so there we have it and now we can easily put in a notebook just to test it out there you go that's one and then the other one as well take another notebook so these are passport size obviously and you can just pull it through there and there we have it so I inserts two notebooks now yeah the paper is still a little bit sturdy but it will get more subtle just like this one so no problem I'm going to take these out because I still have one more elastic to fit to there so the utter elastic I can use the access one from the first lassic so we're going to make sure to get it to our needle again so I'm just going to use my fin wire and pull it true there we go and I'm going to pull it true so I'm just going to go ahead and pull it through here so the middle hole that I made here I'll pull it like that and now I'm going to go back into but make sure this one doesn't go anywhere so maybe hold it I'm just gonna go back from the back again and just pull it true I also make sure this this doesn't go anywhere so son take the needle away and we have a little loop now here as you can tell here it is so now I just gotta check it and see how tight it has to be so to close it so just going to make sure it's tight enough me just hold it with my finger and see I'll make a small knot like that I'm not going to tighten it too much but I'm just going to check and see if it's good so yeah that's about right that looks about right so now I'm just going to tighten a knot oh wait I'm going to stay here so I accidentally put it to the utter elastic so don't do that it's stupid some sky make sure to tighten the knot and ain't net one so this should be about right I'm gonna check once more yeah that seems about fine such as tie in nose knots and make a few more so that then doesn't get to the hole and I'm going to make another one and another one there we go and cut off the excess elastic so now or our duty is finished so I can just close it like this okay and I'm gonna have my charm to make it first I'm gonna insert the inserts so I have one here I want to add about tree but as you can see I only have two elastics so what I'm going to do is I'm going to take some more elastic and cut off a piece and I'm going to cut these together like that let's see about this and I'm just going to close these that should be that right and I'm going to make a few knots again so I'm still gonna be such a long video like seriously just like that and another one I'm gonna cut off the excess okay so now what I'm going to do I'm going to get take these two and make these into one so we're going to get them to the middle of the notebooks like this and now we just take these sides so the middle and then I'm going to put this elastic over it like that just going to pull it down all the way and now these are tightened together as you can see like that and now I can just easily pull them true so I'm going to pull them true here and then I'm going to add the third notebook also in the middle to the other one like that so make sure it's all right there and I'm going to close this one up and there we go so there we have our paper duty so this has three note three inserts right now but I made it thick enough so it can actually add its Adam at one more so it holds for passport notebooks and maybe even a folder so mine white right here holds three yeah so I'm now I'm going to add my charm to give it more charm actually okay so there we go now I have a little bag hanging here because if it travel team and everything and this is what it looks like oh this has a little bit more access so I'm just going to cut this off like that to make it perfect there we go so this is what did pass boards paper Duty looks like the fun thing about this is that you can use any kind of scrapbook paper which makes it really fun and then it just ends up in your favorite kind of paper duty so I have two of them now as you can see this one is a little bit bigger a little bit longer but I made this one shorter because it doesn't have to be this big so here's what they look like I hope you guys enjoyed watching a video I would love to see what kind of paper / blush plastic actually Dodie you guys make and yeah show me and I hope you guys liked it enjoyed the video subscribe if you want to see more and see you guys later I

Great video must try this. Btw there’s a trick for threading thick elastic:
First thread the needle with ordinary thread and tie that to make a loop of an inch or so. Then thread the elastic through that big loop and it’ll get pulled through. Cheers 🙂

Soooooo SWEET !!!!!!!!!

nannakurzhaar · May 14, 2019 at 11:04 am

great idea and very well done! Usually this stuff is quit difficult to do and with my tendency to perfectionism it gets never finished ….this could be doable even for me 😀 and it gives sooo much possibility with decoration (stickers and so on, or stamps!), I'm very excited and I will try for sure! thank you 🙂

The way she says 'the' and 'third'

Nena Quinonez · May 14, 2019 at 11:04 am

It would be nicer if she left links to where she got everything and she talks WAY TOO MUCH, she should have done a voice over or something
