A Food Tour of Kuala Lumpur | Condé Nast Traveler

Published by Darron Toy on

in Malaysia we have this really special saying it goes jalan jalan Chari makan and in English that literally means walking around looking for food when fall alone poor we actually really up-to-date with all the trends and the fads when it comes to food we're going healthy right now so we love the chia seeds we love their sorry bows and we're obsessed with kale this is some kale they're beans avocado smash has poached egg some parmesan seaweed and there's some chilli flakes so clearly it is quite westernized we're not forgetting the the inherent taste of Asia this is Malaysia's pride and joy the nasi lemak who malaysia nasi lemak has a rich coconut milk rice cucumbers peanuts anchovies and sambal but they get presented any way you like this one has a good rich chicken run down and soft-shell crab Malaysian food is always great but sometimes you must look for some healthy options and making the old salad is the best way to go if you are kind of what tissue you you

These are not malaysian food except nasi lemak. Im afraid this video is misleading about this wonderful rich culture malaysia. Go to stall at streets n roads to find true malaysian cuisine not high class restauraunt 😁

Not the typical restaurant Malaysian would frequent to.

wowwwwwwww. I'm not even Malay and this video bothers me A LOT. I mean you could have at least gone to Jalon Alor even though it's basically a tourist trap now. So much more to KL food than this video. Anyone want to try amazing Indian food check out Betel Leaf. Also Nasi Lemak Tanglin for Nasi Lemak. It's near KL Bird Park so definitely check that out as well.

Shame. This is offensive. It's so biased and waters down such a rich gastronomical culture. Sorry but I think you can do better.

Finally a little spotlight on KL

This is not what most Malaysian eats at all. They should be showing mamak/indian, Malay or Chinese food. Even at KLCC most people don't eat at Ben's.

Haha they went to all the high end places when in reality, the best places in KL are the tiny small treasures in the city or suburbia

There's more to KL than a chain of restaurants from the same company!

Roy Watts · July 28, 2019 at 12:32 pm

Why is this ode to deep pockets and narcissism trying to pass itself of as a food tour?

Hannah · July 28, 2019 at 12:32 pm

wish this was a bit longer or had some more places to eat in KL! esp some hidden gems.
