Quintana's stage win came when he was so far back no one bothered with him. Reply Happy Days · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Yes! The Move needs cover the Olympics, great idea. And get a female commentator like Gold winner Victoria Pendleton, or loveable endurance athlete like Chrissy Wellington so we can understand what it's like being an elite athlete and what they go through. Reply Michael Thompson · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Please keep coming back George. You're a great edition to the show. Reply Carlos G. Monzon-Guzman · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Viva Colombia!!! Reply ribble 585 · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am What the hell was Lance ever thinking when he made a come back in 2009, talken about having regrets, judging by the comments on the show. I said… One of the… 😉 Reply Edwin Jansen · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am People are so eager and fast to say that somebody young is going to win 10 tours (you said an era Lance). Look at what happened to Quintana. And then you also forget that Thomas was not at his best. Dumoulin and Froome were not there. Roglic was not there. And next year Jumbo Visma will have Dumoulin, Kruijswijk, Roglic and Bennet and De Plus. If all stays as the grapevine indicates. And then next year Movistar will have Carapaz. Too bad they have Unzue…. So I think it is easily said but harder to do. What a pressure for next year for a 23 year old! Now having multiple good riders in one team is no failsafe for winning. Look at how Movistar rode this Tour. They are the best team with the most riders in the top 10. But winning it… Reply mark harris · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am this used to be a brilliant tdf podcast…. its now an advert Reply Jhon Cadavid · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Damn lance you’re ass needs to get punch in the face Reply Nick Humphrey · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am For me personally- the show is a success because Lance and George know what there on about they are very knowledgable. Sucks that his man couldn't put time into Bernal or G. Would have been a bananas finish had he attacked after his domestique did so much work. Reply John Andrews · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am where is chris charmichael Reply chiguazo · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am just rewatched the 2019 Tour de France Preview show and the prediction was very accurate after just watching stage 20 (and yes almost nothing happened on stage 20 as predicted by lance) Tour the only difference was that no one was counting on Alaphilippe the rider that was going to put the Tour on its head till the last two stages in the alps. . Reply A. Donis · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am The one finishing last (red lantarn) can make big bucks in the criteriums after the tour Reply Jared Fontaine · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Too bad Cav isn't there. Reply Danny Ho · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Chris Froome has a 22 year old son ? Reply Danny Ho · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am probably never hear from this kid again, he'll get kipnabbed while training in the high andes over the winter, a shoout will occur between rival police forces gaining for power and favor-ence from the mayor and the kid will catch a stray bullet, he'll kiss his rosary and proclaim 2 the world how much he loved his mother b4 he passes from this difficult life on the gritty side of the roadside a few 2 many litres short of the sangre. Reply Clifford Wessel · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am I picked Bernal for the win before the Tour started, so why am I not more happy? I think we have to put an "*" behind his win. He really wasn't tested in the end. Cutting stage 19 short left some questions hanging. Then a super short stage 20 which wasn't contested because the #1 and #2 cyclist are on the same team… It's like the top two football teams end up in the Super Bowl but they are owned by the same owner/sponsor so after the half time the team that is trailing by 5 points simply hands the win to the team in the lead and they stop the game then there… Disappointed that neither Kruijswijk, Buchman nor the Movistar trio put in any serious attacks. How does it make a sponsor look when their athletes essentially throw in the towel? It's like everyone rolled over, gave the win to Bernal, and rode for a top 10 finish. To contrast, last year in the Giro Dumoulin repeadetly attacked Froom in the last stage. Now that was a win! Dumoulin and Froom fought it out till the bitter end. Also agree with Lance that the Polka-dot jersey can be a real sham. I've been impressed with Bardet in the past. He has shown to be a great climber. However, this year, watching him dropped repeatedly on the climbs throughout the tour really does not make him look deserving as the "king of the mountain". In the end I am somewhat happy for Bernal and for my Colombian friends, however, while he may have been the strongest rider in the Tour this year, it feels like he was robbed of the opportunity to prove it. Reply Chris Martin · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Ineos, another job well done. Roll on next year. Reply James Butler · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am Not to doubt the Fortune Teller Johan but how many times have we heard "This rider is the next big thing" ????? Reply tarsi · July 29, 2019 at 9:15 am too much selling Lance. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
