2017 PCC Celebration Walk

Published by Darron Toy on

Welcome everyone to the eighth celebration
walk. This is an exciting academic year. Our first day of classes and we get a solar
eclipse. That’s a way to start a semester. It’s great to have you here this is the start
of what I know is going to be a wonderful academic year. It is the year of No Excuses. That means there is absolutely no reason in
the world why each and every one of you students can’t be successful as you begin your academic
journey here at Pueblo Community College. Even on the toughest day we want you to remember
that we’re here for you. That we want you to be successful and that there
isn’t anything we can’t do to support you. Whereas the celebration walk is an annual
tradition that helps students start the new year off on the right foot. Therefore, we the City Council and the City
of Pueblo, Colorado hereby proclaim August 21, 2017 PCC’s Celebration Walk – First Step
to Success Day in the city and county of Pueblo, Colorado. It’s more than just enrolling and taking that
first step isn’t it? It’s about coming together each and every day.
Because what’s the next big day coming up in the life of a PCC student? Graduation. So we get to welcome you in
this celebration walk and then at graduation. Faculty and staff gather around and we welcome
you into that auditorium as you cross the finish line receiving that degree or certificate
and then going out into the community and making us proud.
